On the 19-20th Oct our club went to Thailand Bangkok to meet up with our Sister club RC Taksin Thonburi for our joint project at the Thonburi Womens Correction Institute.
Our club donated USD$2000 for the cause, which benefited more than 730 inmates. They were being taught useful skills like hairdressing, flower arrangement/ornaments, fruit carving, massage therapy, cooking, tailoring and video editing. It was an eye-opener for all who went. Some of our adventurous members also had a wee taste of the inmates’ massage, hairdressing and cooking skills
For the Coffin Donation Project, our club managed to raise ~SGD$2050 thanks to a few members who contribued for this cause – Amit, Lionel, KK and Shaun. Our club sponsored 14 coffins for the poor who cannot afford a proper burial. It included the embalment, chanting/memorial, transportation service and the coffin itself.
