Singapore Women’s Association conducted an eye screening for residents at the Marine Parade Community Centre on the 16 November 2014 from 9am-1pm. This project was supported by Rotary Club of Singapore North. A few of our members were present, namely: IPP Kelvin Chan and ann Esther, PP Henry Chia and PP Dannis Teo to lend a helping hand. A talk on eye care and the importance of screening was conducted concurrently.
The eye screening was conducted in stages:
Ist stage (2 stations) was to check the eye sight and assess the suitability of the spectacles.
2nd stage (4 stations) was to check the eye using the machine for cataract and glaucoma.
3rd stage (1 volunteer doctor from NUH) to do consultation.
IPP’s ann, Esther also participated in the screening. A total of 100 people screened during the 4-hour duration.
